Regular Season Round 5: Liege - Turk Telekom 79-83

After losing their first four games in Group D, Turk Telekom surprised Liege in Belgium in Round 5 of EuroChallenge. The Turkish side grabbed 1-4 record due to 83:79 win as they had massive 28-11 third period. The result has left Barak Netanya, Norrkoping Dolphins and Liege with 3-2 records going into the last week of Regular Season games. While it may have left the home fans with a sour taste in their mouth nothing could take away from the competitiveness of the match. Jenkins and Griffin gave Belgacom Liege 7:2 lead and Stipanovic scored for 11:5.Becirovic made two free throws for 21:16 and Matela nailed three for 26:19. Muya increase to 33:23, while Papac kept the difference at 41:31 at the end of the half. The third quarter was a night mare for the hosts that were swept by the opponents. Turk Telekom erupted with 28-11 for 59:52 at the end of thirty minutes. Simpson scored for 74:66 and Becirovic brought 80:73. He also made the last free throws for his team that won the initial game. Becirovic paced all the winners with 24 points and Altay netted 17. Stiemsma collected 11 points and 11 rebounds, whilst Yagmur added 10. Collette finished the night with 13 points, while Jenkins 1and Gillet posted 11 each in defeat.
