Regular Season Round 6: Orleans - Nancy 92-90

Nancy got a huge embarrassment in Orleans yesterday. Nancy entered the EuroChallenge game against Orleans looking for a victory to stay in the title race. But Orleans performed a miraculous comeback in this one to snatch the victory and leave Nancy out of contention. Darden, Willie Deane and Akinlolu Akingbala helped Nancy to a strong start. The visitors quickly pulled ahead and posted a 27:10 lead late in the quarter. Herve capped the period with a three-pointer but Orleans still trialed by massive 14 points 13:27. Samnick and Willie Deane continued to score for Nancy in the second period. The visitors stretched the margin to comfortable 25 points midway through the stanza 45:20. They wrapped up the first half leading by as many as 19 points 32:51. However Orleans went out of the dressing room a different team. Herve and J.R. Reynolds woke the hosts up as they started to pave their way back into this one. Adrien Moerman hit consecutive triples midway through the period to drag Orleans within 13 points. Akinlolu Akingbala and Willie Deane answered for Nancy but Curti and Maleye NDoye connected from downtown and Orleans trailed by just 11 points heading into the fourth quarter 60:71. Maleye NDoye knocked down 7 points in an 8:2 run from Orleans as they got within 5 points 73:78. Lebrun and J.R. Reynolds cut the deficit at just three points 79:82 with just over three minutes remaining. J.R. Reynolds finally drew things level at 84 with under two minutes to go. Grant converted a three-point play to stop the bleeding for Nancy but J.R. Reynolds responded with a three-point play of his own and then Sy added another three points as Orleans pulled in front. Grant tried to save the game for Nancy as he knotted things up with a triple 90:90. But J.R. Reynolds converted a layup with one second left in regulation sealing the win for Orleans.
