Pyrinto made the first step towards EuroChallenge regular season. They outgunned Szolnoki to build an 8-point buffer before the return leg in Hungary. Antero Lehto stepped up with 20 points to pace the winners. The lead changed hands for several times throughout the first term. Pyrinto managed to eke out a 22:18 lead after ten minutes of action. The Finnish team tipped off the second term with five points in a row to boost the margin. They stayed in charge throughout the second term registering a 38:34 lead at halftime. Antwine Williams scored six points in a row to spark an 11:0 run from the home team that gave them a 51:40 lead midway through the third period. Pyrinto then stretched the gap to as many as 14 points with ten minutes to go 62:48. Szolnoki managed to cap the regulation on an 11:0 run and cut the deficit to just 8 points keeping hope alive for the second game. Brant Bailey notched 17 points, while Antwine Williams accounted for 18 points and 10 rebounds in the victory. Obie Trotter responded with 19 points and 9 rebounds for Szolnoki. Derasimovic had 15 points in defeat.
