Regular Season Round 2: Ventspils - Atomeromu 69-56

BK Ventspils beat Atomeromu SE to tie all records in Group D of EuroChallenge. The Latvian team needed 69:56, while Nizhniy Novgorod edged Khimik Yuzhny to open Round 2 with the win. The situation in the group became more exciting after Day 2. Both teams celebrated one win each as BK Ventspils started strong in the game. Jahmar Young scored for 18:9 and Laksa followed him from the perimeter for 21:13. The Hungarian team however looked better in the second quarter and Wilson tied the game at 23:23. Moreover Cole tasted 27:23 advantage with the guests and Meiers scored for 30:27 at the halftime. The end of the third frame was a nightmare for Atomeromu SE as they could not score for about 7 minutes. Trailing 34:40 the hosts erupted for 47:40 to finish the frame with 13-0 run. Moreover Gray gave the Baltic side 49:40 as the run was increased to 15. Berzins later closed the game at 69:56 for the initial win so far with his side. Jahmar Young paced all the winners with 23 points and Gray brought 14. Willard collected 9 points and 11 rebounds in defeat and Berzins notched 8. Cole ended up with 19 points in defeat, whilst Williams delivered 13.
