Regular Season Round 3: Armia - Leiden 74-71

Armia registered the second win in EuroChallenge regular season. The Georgian team held off Leiden for 2-1 record in Group B. The Dutch team fell at 1-2 record. Sundiata Gaines stepped up with 20 points to lead the effort. Armia opened the game with four points in a row and maintained the lead throughout the first frame. The hosts ensured a 22:15 lead ten minutes into the game. The margin grew at 9-point mark early in the second term. However Leiden used a 9:0 run midway through the second period to surge ahead. They hung on to the lead to eke out a 37:36 advantage at halftime. Armia went on an 11:2 rally early in the third period to regain the lead. But Leiden would not go away. The Dutch team jumped into a 58:54 advantage with ten minutes remaining. The hosts shocked Leiden with a 15:2 start to the fourth quarter earning a 69:60 lead. Sundiata Gaines and Kjellbom went deadly from the stripe in the dying seconds as the Georgian team sealed the win. Jeremy Richardson accounted for 15 points, while Will Thomas added 14 points and 13 boards for Armia. Gabe Kennedy answered with 13 points for Leiden. Arvin Slagter finished with 12 points in the loss.
