Regular Season Round 5: Tsmoki-Minsk - Karsiyaka 70-79

Karsiyaka continue Minsk-2006 downfall as the team from Belarua suffered their third straight loss and dropped to the last spot. Turkish Karsiyaka beat them 79:70 on the road to take 3-2 record. It was a key game for the top position in Group G. It looked good early as Minsk-2006 took a 4-point lead at the end of first quarter. But then Karsiyaka had a 22-16 second period charge getting the lead and Minsk-2006 was not able to take back game control losing it eventually 70-79. Goran Ikonic orchestrated the victory by scoring 21 points and 6 steals. Mire Chatman contributed with 15 points and 9 rebounds for the winners. Aliaksei Lashkevich answered with 8 points and 12 rebounds and American point guard Courtney Eldridge added 9 points, 7 rebounds and 5 assists in the effort for Minsk-2006. Karsiyaka's next round opponent will be league's second-placed Telekom Baskets in Bonn and it will be for sure the game of the week. Minsk-2006 will play on the road against Turk Telekom in Ankara and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
