Regular Season Round 5: Armia - Besiktas 75-77

Besiktas wins Group B even with one more game remaining. The Turkish favorites overcame Armia in Georgia 77:75 for 5-0 record on top. It ended at the same time the two-game winning streak of Armia. Armia was trailing by 2 points at halftime but managed to get 6-point lead after three quarters before a 27-19 charge of Besiktas, which allowed them to win the game. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 24 assists comparing to just 11 passes made by Armia's players. Ersin Dagli stepped up with a double-double by scoring 18 points and 13 rebounds for the winners and Serhat Cetin chipped in 16 points, 5 rebounds and 5 assists. Joakim Kjellbom responded with a double-double by scoring 17 points and 13 rebounds and Will Thomas scored 15 points and 8 rebounds. Defending Georgian champion Armia keeps the second position with two games lost. In the last round Besiktas will face bottom-ranked BG Goettingen on the road. Armia will play against Leiden and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
