Fuenlabrada recorded a crucial win over Triumph in the EuroChallenge quarterfinal series. The Spaniards pulled away with a road win in Game 2 of the series to force the decider on March 20. Leonardo Mainoldi knocked down 23 points to pace the visitors. The teams stayed on level terms in the opening quarter. The scoreboard read 18:18 after ten minutes. Fuenlabrada surged ahead early in the second quarter. They registered a 25:18 advantage. But Triumph did not allow the Spanish team to clear off. The hosts cut the deficit to just two points 36:38 at halftime. McKee put Triumph in front early in the third term. The Russian team piled up a 55:51 advantage at the final intermission. However Leonardo Mainoldi and Kirk Penney teamed up for 19 points in the fourth quarter and Fuenlabrada fired past Triumph to set an exciting third game in the series. Mike Hall posted 21 points and 12 rebounds, while Kirk Penney added 13 points for the winners. Sergey Karasev answered with 16 points for Triumph. Kyle Landry had 13 points and 7 rebounds in the losing effort.
