Quarter-Finals Round 3: Ventspils - Szolnok 78-82

Szolnok complete the Semifinal picture of EuroChallenge with the road win over Ventspils. The Hungarian team won the best-of-three series 2-1 and advanced to Final Four. It looked good early as Ventspils took an 11-point lead at the end of first quarter. But then Szolnok took control and eventually winning the game that evening by 4 points. Ventspils were plagued by 26 personal fouls down the stretch. Ventspils had a magnificent campaign in Europe and led by 14 late in the first quarter, but Gundars Vetra's side didn't deliver the knockout punch. Szolnoki ended up hitting nine of 10 free-throws in the last 48 seconds to seal the victory. It was a great evening for American-Hungarian point guard Obie Trotter who led his team to a victory scoring 20 points, 5 rebounds and 5 assists. American swingman Julien Mills helped adding 13 points and 12 rebounds. The best for the losing side was American point guard Steven Gray with 17 points and center Arturs Berzins scored 15 points. In the Semifinal Szolnoki Olaj will face Besiktas Milangaz.
