Karsiyaka wins the Turkish battle in EuroChallenge. They beat Tofas 64:63 in Bursa in Group A opener. Tofas started better and won the opening period 21-12. They led 7 points at the halftime as Karsiyaka managed to reply with 19-17 in the second frame. The third period however was decisive in the game and gave the guests 23-13 burst that led to 54:51 advantage. The game was tied at 62:62 with 26 seconds to go, but Topaloglu Caner drove a lay-up after Sipahi’s only free throw. Dixon Bobby top-scored for the winners with 17 points and Topaloglu Caner as well as Diebler Jon netted 12 each. Thomas Will followed them with 10 points. Ukrainian naturalized Burtt Steven replied with 16 points, while Elonu Chinemelu collected 12 points and 14 caroms. Nichols Austin posted 10 and Ruzic Tomislav added 9.
