Ventspils wins Group C of EuroChallenge. The team ensured the appearance in the last 16 stage last week and today clinched the top place in the group with 1 round remaining. The Latvian side overcame Pyrinto 79:59 for 5-0 record. The Finnish side lost all the chance and dropped at 1-4 record. Ventspils was the favorite of the game and started with 15-12 rally. The hosts erupted with 31-16 in the second period and led 46:28 at the halftime. Moreover they won the third period 21-9 in the third quarter and did not mind 12-22 push from the guests in the last stanza. Berzins Arturs top-scored for the winners with 19 points and Meiers Martins notched 13. Laksa Martins and Campbell Folarin ended up with 10 points each in a win. Lowe Kenneth posted 12 points in the losing efforyt and Lehto Antero as well as Niemi Jesse tossed in 10 apiece. Lindbom Carl followed them with 8 points in a loss.
