Karsiyaka outscored visiting Gaz Metan for 1-0 record in Group I. The Turkish side won 89:59 in Group I and joined Krasnie Krilya on top. Trailing 18-19 after the first period, the hosts pushed the tempo for good and dominated the rest of the game. They won the second frame 26-12 and then added two victories in the second half. Karsiyaka shot 60.8 percent from the field. They shot the lights out from three nailing 16 long-distance shots on high 59.3 percentage. Karsiyaka players were unselfish on offense dishing 22 assists.
