Karsiyaka wins Group I of EuroChallenge Top 16 Stage with 1 round remaining. The team improved to 4-1 record on top of the group and secured the first place after an 84:75 victory. The hosts took control from the first minutes by winning first half. But Ventspils won third quarter 25-14. However it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Karsiyaka shot the lights out from three nailing 12 long-distance shots on high 54.5 percentage. Their players were unselfish on offense dishing 21 assists. The best player for the winners was Alade Aminu who scored 16 points and 7 rebounds. Will Thomas chipped in a double-double by scoring 10 points and 11 rebounds. Donald Sims produced 16 points and 6 assists and Arturs Berzins added 12 points, 5 rebounds and 5 assists respectively for the guests. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures.
