Royal Hali shock the defending champions in two overtimes. The Turkish side overcame Krasnie Krilya 96:89 in Russia in the biggest upset of the Round 1. Krasnie Krilya started the game with a 22-12 lead and enjoyed a 10-point advantage at the halftime. Royal Hali however looked better in the rest of the game and managed to upset the favorites. Royal Hali won the third period 26-20 and posted a 13-9 rally in the fourth period to tie the score after 4 quarters. Royal Hali, making their debut in the EuroChallenge, scored 19 points in the second overtime alone to overrun a Samara team. Ogut Can Ugur stepped up with 20 points and Borovnjak Dejan collected 17 points and 11 rebounds. Akpinar Mutlu and Stevic Oliver added 12 each, while Burrell Stanley scored 11. Wright Bracey answered with 20 points in defeat and Nichols Demetris netted 18. Miles Aaron collected 16 points and 13 assists and Zabelin Artem brought 13.
