Regular Season Round 2: Ventspils - Sodertalje 72-63

Ventspils posts the home win over Sodertalje in Round 2 of the EuroChallenge. The Latvian side improved to 2-0 record, while Sodertalje suffered their first loss. The hosts took control from the first minutes by winning first half. But Sodertalje Kings won fourth quarter 19-18. However it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. They outrebounded Sodertalje Kings 40-27 including a 31-20 advantage in defensive rebounds. Janis Timma scored 7 points, 13 rebounds, 6 assists and 4 steals to lead the charge for the winners and Ronalds Zakis chipped in 21 points during the contest. John Roberson responded with 22 points and Toni Bizaca scored 18 points and 5 rebounds. Ventspils will play against Zepter Vienna in the next round. Sodertalje Kings will play on the road against TU/Rock and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
