Regular Season Round 2: Aalstar - Groningen 83-82

Okapi Aalstar needed overtime to register their first win in Group E. The Belgian side overcame Gasterra Flames Groningen 83:82 and improved to 1-1 record. Okapi looked to be cruising after a 10-0 run early in the second half powered them into a 48-36 lead on a Raivio jump shot, but Groningen kept coming back. Okapi Aalstar made 18-of-23 free shots during the game. Derek Raivio saved the victory by scoring 29 points. Da'Sean Butler contributed with 16 points and 7 rebounds for the winners. Jeff Robinson replied with 21 points and 9 rebounds and Ross Bekkering added 17 points and 6 rebounds in the effort for Groningen. Okapi Aalstar will face KTP-Basket in Kotka in the next round. Groningen will play on the road against Trenkwalder RE in Reggio Emilia and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
