We cannot really consider it an upset in the game between close teams when Kazakhstan Astana (1-1) was edged on the road by Kosovan Sigal Prishtina (1-1) 75-73 on Wednesday. The hosts trailed by 1 point after three quarters before their 24-21 charge, which allowed them to win the game. Strangely Astana outrebounded Sigal Prishtina 38-24 including a 30-19 advantage in defensive rebounds. Polish-Kosovan Dardan Berisha (193-88) orchestrated the victory by scoring 24 points and 4 assists. American point guard Khalid El-Amin (178-79, college: Connecticut) contributed with 19 points and 4 assists for the winners. Sigal Prishtina's coach allowed to play the deep bench players in such tough game. American point guard Kenneth Hayes (188-87, college: Miami, OH, agency: Priority Sports) replied with 34 points (!!!) and 6 assists and American-Greek forward Patrick Calathes (207-85, college: St.Joseph's) added 5 points and 9 rebounds in the effort for Astana. Sigal Prishtina will face AEK (#4) in Larnaca in the next round. Astana will play on the road against CS Energia Rovinari Targu Jiu and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
