Regular Season Round 6: Inter Bratislava - Siauliai 85-100

The game between closely ranked teams ended with third ranked Lithuanian Siauliai's (3-3) road victory over bottom-ranked Slovakian Inter Bratislava (1-5) 100-85 on Wednesday. The game was mostly controlled by Siauliai. Inter Bratislava was better in fourth quarter 19-18. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Siauliai made 22-of-28 free shots (78.6 percent) during the game. Siauliai outrebounded Inter Bratislava 45-25 including a 31-18 advantage in defensive rebounds. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 22 assists. Egyptian forward Assem Marei (206-92, college: Minn.St.-Mankato) had a double-double by scoring 17 points and 15 rebounds (on 8-of-9 shooting from the field) to lead the charge for the winners and swingman Arturas Jomantas (200-85) chipped in 16 points, 6 rebounds and 7 assists during the contest. Five Siauliai players scored in double figures. The best for the losing side was power forward Martin Rancik (205-78, college: Iowa St.) with 36 points (!!!) and 6 rebounds and power forward Radoslav Rancik (205-79, college: St.Cloud St., agency: Beo Basket) scored 21 points, 5 rebounds and 4 assists. Siauliai maintains third position in Group M with 3-3 record having just two points less than leader ASVEL. Loser Inter Bratislava stay at the bottom place with five games lost.
