No shocking result in a game when first ranked Romanian CS Energia Rovinari Targu Jiu (5-1) won against on the road 3rd ranked Kazakhstan Astana (2-4) 95-85 on Wednesday. The game was mostly controlled by CS Energia Rovinari Targu Jiu. Astana was better in second period 26-23. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. CS Energia Rovinari Targu Jiu dominated down low during the game scoring 60 of its points in the paint compared to Astana's 28. CS Energia Rovinari Targu Jiu looked well-organized offensively handing out 26 assists. Five CS Energia Rovinari Targu Jiu and four Astana players scored in double figures. Both coaches used bench players and allowed the starting five to rest. CS Energia Rovinari Targu Jiu maintains first position in Group K with 5-1 record, which they share with Tsmoki-Minsk. Defending Kazakhstan champion Astana keeps the third place with four games lost.
