The game between closely ranked teams ended with Croatian Cibona's (2-0) road victory over Lithuanian P.Zvaigzdes (0-2) in Pasvalys 95-90 on Wednesday. P.Zvaigzdes were trailing by 3 points at halftime but managed to get 5-point lead after three quarters before a 28-18 charge of Cibona, which allowed them to win the game. They made 21-of-26 free shots (80.8 percent) during the game. Power forward Ante Zizic (210-97) orchestrated the victory with a double-double by scoring 27 points, 13 rebounds and 4 blocks (on 10-of-12 shooting from the field). Forward Nik Slavica (201-97) contributed with 24 points and 6 rebounds (on 7-of-8 shooting from the field) for the winners. American point guard Derrick Low (191-86, college: Washington St.) replied with 18 points and 6 assists and Zygimantas Skucas (201-92) added 11 points, 5 rebounds and 5 assists in the effort for P.Zvaigzdes. Four Cibona and five P.Zvaigzdes players scored in double figures. Cibona will face STB Le Havre (#3) at home in the next round, which may be the game of the day. P.Zvaigzdes will play against CS Energia Rovinari Targu Jiu and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
