Second Stage Round 3: Chalon - AV Cantu 89-78

Chalon/Saor used a home court advantage and beat the opponent from Cantu 89-78 on Tuesday night. The game was mostly controlled by Chalon/Saor. AV Cantu was better in third quarter 28-25. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. They made 26-of-31 free shots (83.9 percent) during the game, while AV Cantu only scored nine points from the stripe. They outrebounded AV Cantu 43-30 including a 33-22 advantage in defensive rebounds. Chalon/Saor looked well-organized offensively handing out 24 assists. It was a great evening for American point guard John Roberson (180-88, college: Texas Tech) who led his team to a victory with a double-double by scoring 11 points and 11 assists. His fellow American import center Devin Booker (203-91, college: Clemson) helped adding 17 points and 6 rebounds (perfect from the field making all seven shots !!!). Five Chalon/Saor players scored in double figures. Chalon/Saor's coach used a ten-player rotation which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. The best for the losing side was Canadian Brady Heslip (191-90, college: Baylor) with 23 points and Awudu Abass (199-93, agency: Players Group) scored 15 points. Chalon/Saor will face TU/Rock (#4) in Tartu in the next round. AV Cantu will play on the road against Enisey in Krasnoyarsk and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
