FIBA Europe Cup
Second Stage Round 4: Slask Wroclaw - Turk Telekom 48-69
Date: January 21, 2016
No shocking result in a game in Wroclaw where second ranked Turkish Turk Telekom (3-1) smashed 4th ranked Polish Slask (0-4) 69-48 on Thursday. The game was mostly controlled by Turk Telekom. Slask was better in second period 13-12. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. American-Georgian point guard Ben Woodside (180-85, college: N.Dakota St., agency: Priority Sports) fired 14 points for the winners. American guard Michael Jenkins (193-86, college: Winthrop) chipped in 12 points. Turk Telekom's coach felt very confident that he used 11 players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. American power forward Jarvis Williams (203-93, college: Murray St.) produced a double-double by scoring 12 points and 15 rebounds and point guard Norbert Kulon (187-92) added 10 points and 5 assists respectively for lost side. Turk Telekom maintains second position in Group Q with 3-1 record having just seven point less than leader Maccabi Rishon. Loser Slask still closes the standings with four games lost. Turk Telekom will face Boras Basket (#3) at home in the next round, which may be the game of the day. Slask will play against the league's leader Oostende and hopes to get finally their first victory.
