Second Stage Round 5: Turk Telekom - Boras 92-72

The game between closely ranked teams ended with 3rd placed Swedish Boras Basket's (1-4) road loss to second ranked Turkish Turk Telekom (4-1) in Ankara 72-92 on Wednesday. The game was mostly controlled by Turk Telekom. Boras Basket was better in fourth quarter 14-10. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. American forward Eric Buckner (208-90, college: Georgia St., agency: David Lee services) orchestrated the victory by scoring 18 points and 7 rebounds. Power forward Cevher Ozer (206-83, agency: 1x1 Sports) contributed with a double-double by scoring 12 points and 12 rebounds for the winners. Five Turk Telekom players scored in double figures. Turk Telekom's coach allowed to play the deep bench players saving starting five for next games. Danish guard Adama Darboe (190-86) answered with 20 points, 8 rebounds and 4 assists and Christian Maraker (207-82, college: Pacific) added 18 points, 5 rebounds and 4 assists in the effort for Boras Basket. Turk Telekom maintains second place in Group Q with 4-1 record having just nine point less than leader ASVEL. Loser Boras Basket keeps the third position with four games lost. Turk Telekom will face league's leader Oostende at home in the next round and it will be for sure the game of the week. Boras Basket will play against Slask and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
