Rovinari beat Khimik to secure the lead in the best-of-three series. The hosts trailed by 8 points at the halftime before their 48-34 charge in the second half, which allowed them to win the game. CS Energia Rovinari Targu Jiu outrebounded Khimik 37-22 including 24 on the defensive glass. American center Callistus Eziukwu (208-85, college: Grand Valley St.) fired a double-double by scoring 19 points, 12 rebounds and 4 blocks for the winners. His fellow American import point guard Jamar Diggs (188-88, college: Wofford, agency: Beo Basket) chipped in 20 points and 4 assists. Forward Vladimir Konev (201-89) produced 14 points, 9 rebounds and 5 assists and American power forward Matthew Shaw (203-88, college: UNLV) added 13 points respectively for lost side. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Khimik's coach rotated eleven players in this game, but that didn't help.
