FIBA Europe Cup
Regular Season Round 3: Antwerp - Nanterre 69-78
Date: November 1, 2016
The most crucial game of the last round was a loss of Belgian Antwerp Giants (2-1) at the home court. Hosts were defeated by French JSF Nanterre (3-0) 78-69. The guests took control from the first minutes by winning the initial quarter 19-15. But Antwerp Giants won second period 16-15. However it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. American players dominated the game. It was a great evening for point guard Chris Warren (178-88, college: Mississippi) who led his team to a victory scoring 19 points, 5 rebounds and 4 assists. Swingman Spencer Butterfield (190-92, college: Utah St., agency: Pro Partner Sports Management) helped adding 17 points. The best for the losing side was power forward Gavin Ware (206-93, college: Mississippi St.) with a double-double by scoring 18 points and 10 rebounds and guard Jason Clark (188-90, college: Georgetown) scored 17 points and 7 rebounds. Antwerp Giants' coach rotated ten players in this game, but that didn't help. JSF Nanterre will play against Sopron KC (#3) at home in the next round, which may be the game of the day. Antwerp Giants will play against FC Porto Ferpinta and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
