Regular Season Round 4: Antwerp - FC Porto 79-72

There was no surprise when 4th ranked Portuguese FC Porto Ferpinta (0-4) was defeated on the road by second ranked Belgian Antwerp Giants (3-1) 79-72 on Tuesday. FC Porto Ferpinta was plagued by 25 personal fouls down the stretch. Worth to mention a great performance of American power forward Gavin Ware (206-93, college: Mississippi St.) who helped to win the game recording a double-double by scoring 22 points and 15 rebounds and the other American import forward Demitrius Conger (196-90, college: St.Bonaventure) who added 17 points during the contest. At the losing side American center Nick Washburn (208-91, college: Hillsdale, agency: Duran International) responded with a double-double by scoring 12 points and 16 rebounds and Spanish guard Ferran Pedreno (188-95) scored 17 points and 4 steals. Four FC Porto Ferpinta players scored in double figures. FC Porto Ferpinta's coach rotated eleven players in this game, but that didn't help. Antwerp Giants maintains second position in Group D with 3-1 record having just seven point less than leader Alba. Defending Portuguese champion FC Porto Ferpinta still closes the standings with four games lost. Antwerp Giants will face Sopron KC (#3) on the road in the next round, which may be the game of the day. FC Porto Ferpinta will play against the league's leader JSF Nanterre and looks forward to get finally their first victory.
