Regular Season Round 4: Gravelines - Groningen 71-67

The game between closely ranked teams ended with their biggest opponent Dutch Groningen's (2-2) road loss to top-ranked French Gravelines-Dunkerque (4-0) 67-71 on Wednesday. The hosts took control from the first minutes by winning the initial quarter 21-15. But Groningen won second period 16-15. However it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Gravelines-Dunkerque made 18-of-19 free shots (94.7 percent) during the game. Worth to mention a great performance of American guard Justin Cobbs (191-91, college: California, agency: Pensack Sports) who helped to win the game recording 27 points (made all of his seven free throws) and the other American import guard Kyle Gibson (196-87, college: Louisiana Tech, agency: BeoBasket) who added 15 points and 7 rebounds during the contest. At the losing side Croatia power forward Drago Pasalic (208-84, agency: Court Side) responded with 15 points and 7 rebounds and American point guard Lance Jeter (191-88, college: Nebraska) scored 13 points and 4 assists. Gravelines-Dunkerque have a solid four-game winning streak. They maintain first position in Group B with 4-0 record. Defending Dutch champion Groningen keeps the second place with two games lost. Gravelines-Dunkerque will face Kormend (#3) on the road in the next round, which may be the game of the day. Groningen will play against Limburg United and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
