Regular Season Round 4: Bnei Hertzeliyya - Lukoil Acad. 84-79

Round 4 most important game was a defeat of group's leader Bulgaria Lukoil Acad. (3-1). They were defeated by second ranked Israeli Bnei Hasharon (3-1) 84-79 on Wednesday night. It ended at the same time the three-game winning streak of Lukoil Acad.. It was a key game for the top position in Group F. The hosts trailed by 3 points after first quarter, but they rallied back to get the 2-point lead at the halftime and eventually won the game 84-79. Bnei Hasharon made 19-of-25 free shots (76.0 percent) during the game. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 22 assists. Worth to mention a great performance of forward Karam Mashour (198-91, college: Morehead St.) who helped to win the game recording 15 points and 9 rebounds and American-Georgia point guard Taurean Green (183-85, college: Florida) who added 15 points and 7 assists (made all of his seven free throws) during the contest. At the losing side American center Steve Zack (211-92, college: La Salle) responded with a double-double by scoring 13 points and 13 rebounds and American-Cameroonian point guard Danny Gibson (177-84, college: S.Indiana) scored 15 points and 7 assists (made all of his seven free throws). Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Bnei Hasharon have a solid three-game winning streak. They keep a position of Group F leader, which they share with defeated Lukoil Acad. Lukoil Acad. will play next round against strong Steaua CSM trying to make it back to the top of the standings. Bnei Hasharon will try to continue on its current victory against fourth ranked Prievidza on the road.
