Regular Season Round 5: Tartu Ulikool - Pau-Lacq-Orthez 68-89
Date: November 15, 2016
Everything went according to plan in Tartu where leader French Pau-Lacq-Orthez (3-0) outleveled 3rd placed Estonia TU/Rock (0-4) 89-68 on Tuesday. The game was mostly controlled by Pau-Lacq-Orthez. TU/Rock was better in third quarter 20-18. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. They made 18-of-20 free shots (90.0 percent) during the game. The best player for the winners was American Ronald Lewis (193-84, college: Ohio St., agency: Pensack Sports) who scored 22 points and 5 assists. Zimbabwean power forward Vitalis Chikoko (207-91) chipped in 12 points and 9 rebounds (perfect from the field making all six shots). Four Pau-Lacq-Orthez players scored in double figures. Lithuania center Dominykas Milka (203-92, college: St.Rose, NY) produced 21 points and 6 rebounds and American guard Mandell Thomas (188-93, college: Fordham) added 17 points and 4 assists respectively for the hosts. Since the result was very predictable, it gave the chance for the coaches to test many bench players and allowed the starting five to rest. Pau-Lacq-Orthez have a solid series of three victories in a row. They maintain first place in Group E with 3-0 record. Loser TU/Rock still closes the standings with four games lost. Pau-Lacq-Orthez will face second-placed Redwell Gunners Oberwart at home in the next round and it will be for sure the game of the week.
