Regular Season Round 6: Pau-Lacq-Orthez - Oberwart 92-74

The game between closely ranked teams ended with second-best Austrian Redwell Gunners Oberwart's (2-2) road loss to top-ranked French Pau-Lacq-Orthez (4-0) 74-92 on Tuesday. The hosts were tied at the half but managed to speed up in last two quarters eventually winning the game. Pau-Lacq-Orthez outrebounded Redwell Gunners Oberwart 35-24 including 24 on the defensive glass. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 30 assists comparing to just 13 passes made by Redwell Gunners Oberwart's players. It was a good game for American Ronald Lewis (193-84, college: Ohio St., agency: Pensack Sports) who led his team to a victory with 14 points, 6 rebounds and 4 assists. Leopold Cavaliere (201-96, agency: BeoBasket) contributed with 12 points and 5 rebounds for the winners. Pau-Lacq-Orthez's coach used an eleven-player rotation which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. American guard Andell Cumberbatch (196-93, college: St.Bonaventure, agency: Octagon Europe) replied with 22 points and his fellow American import point guard Derek Jackson (185-91, college: Kent St., agency: Mansfield and Associates) added 17 points and 5 assists in the effort for Redwell Gunners Oberwart. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Pau-Lacq-Orthez maintains first position in Group E with 4-0 record. Defending Austrian champion Redwell Gunners Oberwart keeps the second place with two games lost.
