Second Stage Round 1: Gravelines - Prievidza 95-98

Quite upsetting was French Gravelines-Dunkerque's home defeat in a game versus Slovakian Prievidza who edged hosts 98-95. Gravelines-Dunkerque was very close to get their first win. But it seems they have to wait a little bit longer. The guests trailed by 8 points after three quarters before their 33-22 charge, which allowed them to win the game. Strangely Gravelines-Dunkerque outrebounded Prievidza 44-27 including a 22-4 advantage in offensive rebounds. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 22 assists. American guard Andre Jones (191-90, college: Winthrop) fired 30 points, 7 rebounds and 5 assists for the winners. Croatian forward Igor Maric (196-85) chipped in 21 points and 5 rebounds. American guard Justin Cobbs (191-91, college: California, agency: Pensack Sports) produced 29 points and 4 assists and the other American import forward Richard Solomon (208-92, college: California, agency: Pensack Sports) added 17 points and 16 rebounds respectively for lost side. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Prievidza will meet at home Demir IBB in the next round and it will be for sure the game of the week. Gravelines-Dunkerque will play against Antwerp Giants and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
