Second Stage Round 2: UBT Cluj Napoca - Pau-Lacq-Orthez 79-69

The biggest surprise of round 2 in FIBA Europe Cup took place in Cluj Napoca where host Romanian UBT Cluj Napoca (1-1) beat French Pau-Lacq-Orthez (1-1) 79-69 on Tuesday evening. The hosts trailed by 7 points at the halftime before their 47-30 charge in the second half, which allowed them to win the game. UBT Cluj Napoca looked well-organized offensively handing out 21 assists. The best player for the winners was Serbian point guard Aleksandar Rasic (195-84, agency: BeoBasket) who scored 21 points, 7 assists and 4 steals. Senegalese power forward Ousmane Barro (207-84, college: Marquette) chipped in 17 points and 8 rebounds. American point guard D.J. Cooper (183-90, college: Ohio) produced 12 points, 9 assists and 4 steals and his fellow American import forward Antywane Robinson (203-84, college: Temple) added 17 points and 5 rebounds respectively for the guests. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Pau-Lacq-Orthez will play next round against strong Alba trying to make it back to the top of the standings. UBT Cluj Napoca will try to continue on its current victory against BK Pardubice at home.
