Second Stage Round 2: Antwerp - Gravelines 85-74

Antwerp Giants used a home court advantage and won against the opponent from Gravelines 85-74 on Wednesday night. The hosts trailed by 8 points after first quarter, but they stormed back to get the 8-point lead at the halftime and eventually won the game 85-74. Antwerp Giants dominated down low during the game scoring 54 of its points in the paint compared to Gravelines-Dunkerque's 28. They outrebounded Gravelines-Dunkerque 41-25 including 29 on the defensive glass. Antwerp Giants looked well-organized offensively handing out 23 assists comparing to just 8 passes made by Gravelines-Dunkerque's players. The best player for the winners was American power forward Gavin Ware (206-93, college: Mississippi St.) who scored 21 points and 7 rebounds. The other American import guard Jason Clark (188-90, college: Georgetown) chipped in 10 points and 6 assists. Antwerp Giants' coach used a ten-player rotation and allowed the starting five to rest. American guard Justin Cobbs (191-91, college: California, agency: Pensack Sports) produced 20 points and 5 rebounds and British forward Myles Hesson (198-90) added 19 points and 5 rebounds respectively for the guests. Antwerp Giants will face Prievidza at home in the next round and it will be for sure the game of the week. Gravelines-Dunkerque will play against Demir IBB and hope to win that game.
