There was a minor upset when top-ranked French Pau-Lacq-Orthez (2-2) was defeated on the road by fourth ranked Czech BK Pardubice (1-3) 92-77 on Tuesday. The hosts trailed by 4 points at the halftime before their 51-32 charge in the second half, which allowed them to win the game. BK Pardubice outrebounded Pau-Lacq-Orthez 38-27 including 28 on the defensive glass. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 23 assists. Worth to mention a great performance of American forward Dominez Burnett (196-92, college: Davenport) who helped to win the game recording 20 points and 6 rebounds and the other American import forward Joseph Wall (199-89, college: Seattle Pacific) who added 21 points and 6 rebounds during the contest. Five BK Pardubice players scored in double figures. At the losing side Congolese-French Jean-Michel Mipoka (198-85) responded with 19 points and 5 rebounds and American point guard D.J. Cooper (183-90, college: Ohio) scored 11 points and 7 assists. Both coaches used bench players saving starting five for next games. BK Pardubice maintains fourth position in Group O with 1-3 record. Loser Pau-Lacq-Orthez dropped to the second place with two games lost. BK Pardubice will face league's leader Alba in Szekesfehervar in the next round and it may be the game of the week. Pau-Lacq-Orthez will play at home against the league's second-placed UBT Cluj Napoca and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
