Second Stage Round 4: Oberwart - Vytautas 81-85

The game between closely ranked teams ended with 3rd ranked Austrian Redwell Gunners Oberwart's (1-3) home loss to second ranked Lithuanian Vytautas (3-1) 81-85 on Wednesday. Redwell Gunners Oberwart trailed by 12 points after 3 quarters before a 24-16 run in the last quarter cut the deficit to 81-85 at the end of the game. Worth to mention a great performance of forward Arturas Valeika (207-85, college: Midland CC) who helped to win the game recording a double-double by scoring 14 points, 10 rebounds and 4 assists and guard Tomas Delininkaitis (190-82) who added 23 points during the contest. Four Vytautas players scored in double figures. At the losing side American guard Chris McNealy (194-92, college: Cal-Irvine) responded with 25 points and 7 rebounds and his fellow American import point guard Derek Jackson (185-91, college: Kent St., agency: Mansfield and Associates) scored 19 points and 7 assists. Vytautas keep a position of Group M leader, which they share with Telekom Bsk. Defending Austrian champion Redwell Gunners Oberwart keeps the third place with three games lost. Vytautas will face Apoel (#4) in Nicosia in the next round. Redwell Gunners Oberwart will play on the road against the league's leader Telekom Baskets in Bonn and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
