FIBA Europe Cup
Second Stage Round 4: Bnei Hertzeliyya - Tsmoki-Minsk 88-77
Date: January 11, 2017
We could consider it a predictable result in the game between close teams in Hod Hasharon where fourth ranked Israeli Bnei Hasharon (1-3) beat one of their biggest challengers Belarusian Tsmoki-Minsk (1-3) 88-77 on Wednesday. The game was mostly controlled by Bnei Hasharon. Tsmoki-Minsk was better in third quarter 20-18. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Bnei Hasharon made 17-of-22 free shots (77.3 percent) during the game. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 22 assists. Worth to mention a great performance of American guard Stephen Dennis (198-87, college: Kutztown, agency: HMS) who helped to win the game recording 21 points, 8 rebounds and 6 assists and the other American import forward Jeff Adrien (201-86, college: Connecticut) who added 17 points and 5 rebounds during the contest. At the losing side Serbian center Djordje Gagic (210-90, agency: BeoBasket) responded with 21 points and 8 rebounds and Montenegrin Nemanja Milosevic (204-87, college: W.Kentucky, agency: Interperformances) scored 19 points and 5 rebounds. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Bnei Hasharon left bottom position moving up to third place in Group N, which they share with defeated Tsmoki-Minsk. It was Tsmoki-Minsk's third loss in a row. Bnei Hasharon will face league's second-placed JSF Nanterre on the road in the next round and it will be for sure the game of the week. Tsmoki-Minsk will play against the league's leader Kormend and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
