The game had a very big importance for second-ranked Hungarian Kormend as it allowed them to take a leadership position in Group N. Kormend defeated top-ranked French JSF Nanterre at home 91-74. It ended at the same time the nine-game winning streak of JSF Nanterre. It was a key game for the top position in Group N. The game was mostly controlled by Kormend. JSF Nanterre was better in fourth quarter 25-23. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Kormend shot the lights out from three nailing 12 long-distance shots on high 52.2 percentage. The winners were led by American-Guinea-Bissau point guard Perry Petty (185-88, college: UTRGV) who scored that evening 19 points, 5 rebounds, 8 assists and 4 steals (on 7-of-9 shooting from the field) and American forward Terry Allen (203-93, college: Richmond) supported him with 27 points. Petty is a former Eurobasket Summer League player, which is considered top international summer league in the market. Four Kormend players scored in double figures. Even 22 points and 4 assists by German point guard Heiko Schaffartzik (183-84) did not help to save the game for JSF Nanterre. Mathias Lessort (205-95) added 15 points and 8 rebounds for lost side. Kormend have a solid three-game winning streak. As mentioned above they are at the top of the standings, which they share with Nanterre. JSF Nanterre will play next round against strong Bnei Hasharon trying to get back on the winning streak. Kormend will try to continue on its current victory against third ranked Tsmoki-Minsk on the road.
