Second Stage Round 5: Nanterre - Bnei Hertzeliyya 107-71
Date: January 18, 2017
Not a big story in a game when 4th placed Israeli Bnei Hasharon (1-4) was outplayed on the road by first ranked French JSF Nanterre (4-1) 107-71 on Wednesday. The game without a history. JSF Nanterre led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. They shot 69.6 percent from the field. JSF Nanterre outrebounded Bnei Hasharon 38-24 including a 30-13 advantage in defensive rebounds. They shot the lights out from three sinking 22 long-distance shots on high 62.9 percentage. JSF Nanterre looked well-organized offensively handing out 31 assists comparing to just 15 passes made by Bnei Hasharon's players. The best player for the winners was Hugo Invernizzi (196-93) who scored 18 points, 8 rebounds and 7 assists. American Mykal Riley (198-85, college: Alabama) chipped in 17 points, 9 rebounds and 5 assists. American forward Jeff Adrien (201-86, college: Connecticut) produced 18 points and 7 rebounds and the other American import forward Adom Jacko (203-94, college: Loyola Mary) added 16 points respectively for the guests. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Since the result was very predictable, it gave the chance for the coaches to test many bench players and allowed the starting five to rest. JSF Nanterre maintains first place in Group N with 4-1 record. Loser Bnei Hasharon keeps the fourth position with four games lost. JSF Nanterre will face Tsmoki-Minsk (#3) on the road in the next round, which may be the game of the day. Bnei Hasharon will play against the league's second-placed Kormend and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
