Regular Season Round 5: Khimik - Sigal Prishtina 59-78

The game between closely ranked teams ended with third ranked Kosovan Sigal Prishtina's (3-2) road victory over 4th placed Ukrainian Khimik (0-5) in Yuzhny 78-59 on Friday. The game was mostly controlled by Sigal Prishtina. Khimik was better in second period 16-15. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Sigal Prishtina dominated down low during the game scoring 48 of its points in the paint compared to Khimik's 28. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 21 assists. British point guard Andrew Lawrence (185-90, college: Charleston) orchestrated the victory by scoring 15 points, 7 assists and 5 steals. Polish-Kosovan Dardan Berisha (191-88) contributed with 11 points, 7 rebounds and 5 assists for the winners. Forward Oleksandr Antypov (203-95) answered with 12 points and 7 rebounds and American forward Austin Arians (198-93, college: Wake Forest) added 12 points in the effort for Khimik. Khimik's coach let to play ten players seeing no chance for a win. Defending Kosovan champion moved-up to second place in Group G, which they share with Mons-Hainaut. Loser Khimik still closes the standings with five games lost. Sigal Prishtina will face league's leader Demir IBB in Buyukcekmece in the next round and it will be for sure the game of the week. Khimik will play at home against the league's second-placed Belfius Mons-Hainaut and looks forward to get finally their first victory.
