Regular Season Round 4: Karpos Sokoli - Szolnok 73-91

Rather predictable result in Skopje where second ranked Hungarian Szolnok (3-1) beat 4th ranked FYR Macedonian Karpos Sokoli (0-4) 91-73 on Wednesday. The guests trailed by 5 points after first quarter, but they stormed back to get the 11-point lead at the halftime and eventually won the game 91-73. Szolnok dominated down low during the game scoring 66 of its points in the paint compared to Karpos Sokoli's 46. They outrebounded Karpos Sokoli 37-24 including a 31-16 advantage in defensive rebounds. American point guard Kendrick Perry (183-92, college: Youngstown St.) fired 17 points, 7 rebounds and 4 assists (on 7-of-8 shooting from the field) for the winners. The other American import forward Quincy Ford (203-93, college: Northeastern) chipped in a double-double by scoring 12 points and 10 rebounds. Five Szolnok players scored in double figures. Serbian forward Zarko Comagic (199-85, college: N.Arizona) produced 17 points and 6 rebounds and Serbian power forward Dragan Labovic (207-87, agency: Alti Sport) added 15 points and 5 rebounds respectively for lost side. Szolnok have a solid three-game winning streak. They keep a position of Group H leader, which they share with N.Novgorod. Loser Karpos Sokoli still closes the standings with four games lost. Szolnok will face Falco-Vulcano (#3) in Szombathely in the next round, which may be the game of the day. Karpos Sokoli will play on the road against the league's second-placed BC Nizhny Novgorod and looks forward to get finally their first victory.
