Regular Season Round 4: Dinamo Tbilisi - Academic Sofia 63-72

The game between closely ranked teams ended with one of their biggest challengers Georgian Dinamo Tbilisi's (0-4) home loss to third ranked Bulgarian Lukoil Acad. (2-2) 63-72 on Wednesday. The guests took control from the first minutes by winning first half. But Dinamo Tbilisi won third quarter 17-14. However it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. American Dalton Pepper (196-90, college: Temple) fired 23 points and 5 rebounds for the winners. The other American import power forward Keith Clanton (205-90, college: Cent.Florida) chipped in a double-double by scoring 13 points and 10 rebounds. Lukoil Acad.'s coach allowed to play the deep bench players saving starting five for next games. Center Giorgi Sharabidze (210-90, agency: Mansfield and Associates) produced 10 points and 8 rebounds and American guard Lavell Boyd (183-94, college: UMKC) added 10 points respectively for lost side. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Defending Bulgarian champion maintains third position in Group E with 2-2 record having just six point less than leader Le Portel. Defending Georgian champion Dinamo Tbilisi still closes the standings with four games lost. Lukoil Acad. will face league's second-placed Istanbul BBSK at home in the next round and it will be for sure the game of the week. Dinamo Tbilisi will play against the league's leader UBT Cluj Napoca and looks forward to get finally their first victory.
