Regular Season Round 5: Groningen - Bosna-Royal 94-56

An interesting game for Dutch Groningen (3-2) which hosted in Groningen 4th placed Bosnian Bosna-Royal (0-5). Third ranked Groningen had an easy win 94-56. The game was mostly controlled by Groningen. Bosna-Royal was better in second period 20-14. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. They made 16-of-18 free shots (88.9 percent) during the game. Groningen outrebounded Bosna-Royal 43-21 including a 18-7 advantage in offensive rebounds. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 22 assists comparing to just 8 passes made by Bosna-Royal's players. American forward Evan Bruinsma (202-92, college: Detroit Mercy, agency: Inception Sports) orchestrated the victory with a double-double by scoring 34 points (!!!) and 10 rebounds. His fellow American import guard Brandyn Curry (187-91, college: Harvard) contributed with 17 points, 6 rebounds and 5 assists for the winners. Five Groningen players scored in double figures. Groningen's coach felt very confident that he used 11 players and allowed the starting five to rest. Guard Drasko Knezevic (185-93, agency: XL Basketball Agency) answered with 12 points and 5 assists and Montenegrin Milija Mikovic (205-94) added 18 points in the effort for Bosna-Royal. Defending Dutch champion moved-up to second place in Group A, which they share with Antwerp. Loser Bosna-Royal still closes the standings with five games lost. Groningen will face league's second-placed Antwerp Giants at home in the next round and it will be for sure the game of the week. Bosna-Royal will play against the league's leader Le Portel and hopes to get finally their first victory.
