Important game to mention about took place in Kedainiai. Lithuanian Nevezis (1-0) saved a 3-point victory at home edging Hungarian Alba (0-1) 90-87 on Wednesday evening. Nevezis made 18-of-22 free shots (81.8 percent) during the game. Forward Gabas Maldunas (206-93, college: Dartmouth) fired 19 points and 7 rebounds for the winners. Swingman Gintautas Matulis (196-86) chipped in 19 points and 6 rebounds (made all of his nine free throws !!!). American swingman Trevis Simpson (193-91, college: NC-Greensboro, agency: 3Eye) produced 22 points and 7 rebounds and the other American import guard Kasey Hill (185-93, college: Florida) added 15 points, 8 rebounds and 5 assists respectively for lost side. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Nevezis will face Kormend (#4) on the road in the next round. Alba will play against Demir IBB and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
