Second Stage Round 3: Kormend - Alba 60-74

Very significant was Alba's (#2) 74-60 road victory against Kormend in Group J. The game was mostly controlled by Alba. Kormend was better in fourth quarter 12-6. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. They dominated down low during the game scoring 44 of its points in the paint compared to Kormend's 22. Kormend was plagued by 24 personal fouls down the stretch. It was an exceptional evening for power forward Peter Lorant (206-85, agency: Octagon Europe) who led the winners and scored 23 points and 8 rebounds (on 9-of-10 shooting from the field). American guard Kasey Hill (185-93, college: Florida) accounted for 12 points and 4 assists for the winning side. Alba's coach allowed to play the deep bench players saving starting five for next games. American guard Eric Fanning (196-92, college: Boston U.) came up with 19 points and 6 rebounds and the other American import guard Andre Hollins (186-92, college: Minnesota, agency: 3Eye) added 13 points, 5 rebounds and 5 assists respectively for Kormend in the defeat. Alba will play against Nevezis (#4) in Kedainiai in the next round. Kormend will play at home against Demir IBB and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
