Regular Season Round 2: Istanbul BBSK - Spirou 62-80

Belgian Spirou Charleroi's road win over Turkish Istanbul BBSK 80-62 was very exciting. The game without a history. Spirou Charleroi led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. They dominated down low during the game scoring 48 of its points in the paint compared to Istanbul BBSK's 28. American forward Dario Hunt (206-89, college: Nevada) had a double-double by scoring 12 points and 13 rebounds to lead the charge for the winners and the other American import Nate Linhart (201-86, college: Akron) chipped in 18 points and 4 steals during the contest. Linhart is a former Eurobasket Summer League player, which is considered top international summer league in the market. Four Spirou Charleroi players scored in double figures. Power forward Semih Erden (211-86) responded with 15 points and 9 rebounds and American guard Tu Holloway (183-89, college: Xavier) scored 18 points (was perfect 14-for-14 from the free throw line !!!). Both coaches allowed to play bench players saving starting five for next games. Spirou Charleroi will face Groningen at home in the next round and it will be for sure the game of the week. Istanbul BBSK will play against Pinar Karsiyaka and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
