But Pinar Karsiyaka was not able to use a home court advantage and was defeated by the opponent from Groningen 69-64 on Wednesday night. The guests took control from the first minutes by winning first half. But Pinar Karsiyaka won third quarter 25-17. However it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. American-Dutch swingman Jason Dourisseau (196-83, college: Nebraska) scored 10 points, 5 rebounds and 4 assists to lead the charge for the winners and American swingman Grant Sitton (206-93, college: Victoria) chipped in 13 points during the contest. Four Groningen players scored in double figures. American point guard Erving Walker (173-90, college: Florida) responded with 17 points and Egyptian forward Assem Marei (206-92, college: Minn.St.-Mankato) produced a double-double by scoring 12 points and 10 rebounds. Both coaches allowed to play bench players in such tough game. Groningen will face Spirou Charleroi (#3) on the road in the next round, which may be the game of the day. Pinar Karsiyaka will play against Istanbul BBSK and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
