Regular Season Round 6: Avtodor - Den Bosch 89-79

Everything could happen in Saratov at the game between two tied teams. Both second ranked Russian Avtodor and one of their biggest challengers Dutch Den Bosch had identical 3-2 record. This time Avtodor used a home court advantage and defeated the opponent from Den Bosch 89-79 on Wednesday night. Den Bosch was trailing by 7 points at halftime but managed to get 2-point lead after three quarters before a 30-18 charge of Avtodor, which allowed them to win the game. They dominated down low during the game scoring 54 of its points in the paint compared to Den Bosch's 30. They outrebounded Den Bosch 36-23 including a 29-15 advantage in defensive rebounds. Avtodor looked well-organized offensively handing out 27 assists comparing to just 11 passes made by Den Bosch's players. Great defensive blocking was one of the keys in this match when Avtodor made 7 blocks. The best player for the winners was American forward Perrin Buford (198-94, college: Middle Tenn.St.) who scored 23 points, 6 rebounds and 7 assists. The other American import forward Tre McLean (196-93, college: Chattanooga) chipped in 16 points, 9 rebounds and 5 assists. At the other side the best for losing team was American point guard Keshun Sherrill (175-94, college: Augusta, agency: Interperformances) who recorded 28 points (went 8 for 8 at the free throw line) and Jessey Voorn (197-90, agency: Court Side) added 13 points respectively. Five Avtodor and four Den Bosch players scored in double figures. Despite that victory Avtodor went down to thirteenth position (Group D) due to points difference. Loser Den Bosch dropped to the fifteenth place with three games lost.
