Second Stage Round 2: Usak - Gussing 79-77

A very interesting game took place in Usak. It ended with only two-point defeat on the road of Austrian Gussing Knights (1-1) to Turkish Usak (1-1) 79-77 in the fight for the first place. The hosts were tied after three quarters but managed to speed up in last quarter eventually winning the game. Usak outrebounded Gussing Knights 46-32 including 33 on the defensive glass. The best player for the winners was American guard Courtney Fells (196-86, college: N.Carolina St.) who had a double-double by scoring 17 points, 11 rebounds and 5 assists. Center Sertac Sanli (212-91, agency: Beo Basket) chipped in a double-double by scoring 12 points and 10 rebounds. Four Usak players scored in double figures. Usak's coach allowed to play the deep bench players in such tough game. American point guard Christopher Dunn (189-83, college: W.Virginia St.) produced 17 points and 5 assists and Bulgarian Chavdar Kostov (195-88, agency: Interperformances) added 19 points respectively for the guests. Usak's next round opponent will be Le Mans on the road. Gussing Knights will play against JSF Nanterre and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
