Second Stage Round 6: Triumph - Ventspils 80-71

Triumph finished Last 16 stage with victory. They defeated visiting Ventspils 71-80 on Tuesday. The hosts were tied at the half but managed to speed up in last two quarters eventually winning the game. It was a great shooting night for Triumph Lyubertsy especially from behind the arc, where they had solid 72.7 percentage. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 21 assists. American guard Jeremy Chappell (191-87, college: Robert Morris, agency: Hart Sports Mngm) scored 13 points to lead the charge for the winners and guard Eugeny Voronov (194-86) chipped in 12 points during the contest. The best for the losing side was forward Akselis Vairogs (195-85, agency: Players Group) with 15 points and forward Maris Gulbis (200-85, agency: Players Group) scored 15 points (perfect from the field making all six shots). Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games.
