Regular Season Round 1: Lukoil Acad. - Kormend 75-80

We should not miss the game where Hungarian Kormend (1-0) against Bulgarian Lukoil Acad. (0-1) where Kormend won on the road by five points 80-75. It looked good early as Lukoil Acad. took an 10-point lead at the end of first quarter. But then Kormend had a 29-14 second period charge getting the lead and Lukoil Acad. was not able to take back game control losing it eventually 75-80. Kormend made 16-of-20 charity shots (80.0 percent) during the game. British power forward Ryan Richards (212-91, agency: Interperformances) nailed 28 points and 7 rebounds for the winning side and American guard Walter Lemon Jr. (190-92, college: Bradley, agency: N.E.T.) accounted for 20 points, 7 rebounds and 5 assists. Kormend's coach allowed to play the deep bench players in such tough game. American forward Charles Thomas (203-86, college: Arkansas) came up with 33 points (!!!) and 8 rebounds and the other American import guard Morris Curry (181-87, college: Providence) added 14 points and 7 assists respectively for Lukoil Acad. in the defeat. Kormend's next round opponent will be CS Energia Rovinari Targu Jiu at home and it will be for sure the game of the week. Lukoil Acad. will play against TU/Rock in Tartu and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
